A ROMSEY man has been made to pay around £800 after being found guilty of drink driving at a McDonalds.

David William Farrar, 35, of The Crescent in Romsey pleaded not guilty to drink driving after being stopped at the Ower branch of the fast food chain in September last year.

Despite that, he failed to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on March 21 and was fined £600 in his absence for the crime. He was also made to pay £60 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. On March 9, he had pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to court, for which he was fined a further £50.

His offences totalled a payment of £795, and he was disqualified from driving for 17 months.
