TRADITIONAL family pantomime returns to Romsey next week as Romsey Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (RAODS)'s version of Aladdin graces the Plaza stage.

In order to marry Princess So Shy, Aladdin needs to become very rich - and in a hurry. Unfortunately his get-rich-quick scheme involves helping the wicked Abanazar. Aladdin ends up trapped in a cave - but with help from two genies and the staff of Widow Twankey's laundry, Abanazar gets taken to the cleaners.

Bob Heather’s newly updated script has all the ingredients you’d expect from a traditional family pantomime including visual gags, colourful costumes, scary demons, and lots of audience participation.

Musical numbers range from Gilbert and Sullivan to One Direction, so there’s something for everyone.

Aladdin runs from Thursday to January 27 and features Ellie Powell as Aladdin and Lily Holmes as Princess So Shy, both pictured.

Tickets are priced £13 from plazatheatre.com or call 01794 512987.
