A CYCLIST is fighting for his life after being hit by a car.

The 20-year-old was rushed to Southampton General Hospital following the collision.

The cyclist was struck by a Kia Cee'd on Highlands Road, at its junction with Hill Drive at 12.20pm on Sunday.

Police say he is currently in a critical condition.

No one else was injured as a result of the incident.

PC Robert Giles, from the Joint Roads Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist remains in a serious collision in hospital at this time.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or either vehicle prior to what happened.
