AWARD-winning chefs wowed Hampshire residents at this year's Charity Chefs' Challenge.
Chefs Craig McColm, Sylvain Gachot and Andy MacKenzie were given 30 minutes to create main courses at the event held in Chandler's Ford on Friday to raise money for the new children’s emergency and trauma department in Southampton.
During the night they were joined by Mark Tilling and Ian Mark, winners of Bake off: Crème de la Crème, who had to create desserts in 40 minutes using the ingredients in their mystery box.
The show, hosted by chef Alex Aitken, started with a pie challenge and all the chefs were then
presented with medals by event organiser Katy Metson.
Participants had also the chance to enjoy an auction and raffle to raise money for the new children's unit in Southampton.
All the money raised will be given to The Murray Parish Trust and matched by the government, doubling the amount raised.
Ms Metson said: "We are waiting for the last two invoices to be raised, once they are we will be able to announce the final figure raised. We think that it will be over £10,000. It’s fantastic to think that our evening will equate to over £20,000 being donated to the new A&E paediatric department in Southampton. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us either as a volunteer or a member of the audience, we salute you."
