A HOST of top family fun and professional theatre shows are among the highlights of The Berry Theatre’s newly announced spring programme.

Big Wooden Horse opens the season with Monstersaurus, following young inventor Monty as he creates a whole world of wacky inventions and incredible monsters, on February 15.

Goblin Theatre returns on March 3 with Peter and the Wolf; a musical adventure for youngsters, and Long Nose Puppets light up the stage with Penguin on March 31; an early years show based on Polly Dunbar’s award-winning book.

More Magic for Kids, a time travelling epic for all the family, is on stage on April 3.Tracy Beaker illustrator Nick Sharratt invites young people aged six plus to the venue for his Big Draw-Along on March 10. Family favourite Saturday Storytime also returns.

Older audiences are treated to comedy and theatre this spring. Game of Thrones actor Rhodri Miles stars in Dylan Thomas: Clown in the Moon, a dramatic portrait of the titular poet’s chaotic, hilarious and brief life, on February 17.

Blackeyed Theatre presents Teechers, a re-staging of the company’s highly-acclaimed production by John Godber, on March 23. Berry Youth Theatre presents The Minotaur; a tale of adventure and intrigue, of love and betrayal, and of two cultures each bent on revenge, on April 13 and 14.

Britain’s Got Talent 2017 semi-finalist Jess Robinson closes the spring season with Here Come The Girls; an evening of impressions, musical comedy and stunning vocal gymnastics, on April 27. Tickets from berrytheatre.co.uk or 023 8065 2333.
