AN EVENTS manager was caught with drugs again after officers pulled him over for having a missing number plate.

Michael Miller was back in court after a similar charge when he was discovered with a skunk cannabis factory which had the potential of producing almost £50,000 worth of the drug.

Southampton Crown Court heard that the 39-year-old was driving along Park Road, Freemantle in the early afternoon when officers noticed his vehicle.

When Miller noticed them, he drove off before eventually stopping and being searched.

Richard Martin, prosecutor, said that the self-employed events manager, who puts on music festivals, concerts and carries out artist management, had 9g of cocaine in a purse and a gram of cannabis.

He added that when Miller was interviewed by police, he remained silent throughout.

The court heard that Miller was “remorseful that he was back before the courts” and “ashamed of himself” following the incident on February 2.

The court was told that the last two shows Miller had produced in Southampton had failed to turn a profit so he was currently struggling with his income.

The last time Miller was in court he was found to be making cannabis from his home in Sarisbury Green. Armed with a search warrant, police carried out a dawn raid on his property in 2015 and found 117 plants in a bedroom.

At the time, prosecutors believed the cannabis that was seized had a street value of £46,000. Then the court was told that the operation at the home would have cost between £5,000 and £6,000 to set up.

At the time he was jailed for two years by judge Judge Peter Ralls QC described the set-up as sophisticated.

The court also head that Miller had nine previous convictions for 16 offences but nothing drug-related.

Miller, of Hursley Road, Chandler’s Ford, admitted possessing class A and class B drugs. He was sentenced to nine-months imprisonment, suspended for two-years.
