A TEENAGER has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being shot.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the incident and have arrested three people.

Police were called to Hearsey Gardens, Blackwater, after the 17-year-old boy was shot.

A 16-year-old boy from Blackwater has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and is currently in police custody.

A 40-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman from Blackwater were both arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and both also remain in custody.

Officers want to speak to anyone with information on the incident, which happened at about 2.56pm on Saturday.

Chief Inspector Matt Reeves said: “This was a very serious incident which has left a young man in hospital.

“We don’t doubt that you will have your concerns, but fortunately incidents of this nature are rare in Hampshire.

“Detectives are continuing to carry out enquiries in the area, so please be assured that this is being taken very seriously.

“You will likely see a lot of officers in Blackwater today as we look to reassure the community, as well as investigate what has happened in Hearsey Gardens."
