A WOMAN has been left in hospital after a hit-and-run crash in a Southampton estate.
The 43-year-old pedestrian was crossing Hinkler Road in Thornhill near the junction with Marston Road when she was hit by a "small blue hatchback".
The incident happened at about 9pm on Saturday but police have only released details today.
Police were called to the scene and the woman, who suffered serious leg injuries, was rushed to hospital.
PC Jon Dove said: "A number of people, including staff from the local shops, went to help the woman but the driver of the car failed to stop.
"We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or saw the car as it drove off.
"If you were the driver or if you think you know who they are, then please get in touch."
