SOUTHAMPTON’S first Celebrity Sunwalk is living up to its name after organisers announced that TV designers Colin and Justin will be officially starting the event.

The home improvement pair who recently appeared in ‘I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here’ will get festivities underway and be the official MCs throughout the sponsored walk.

The cheeky presenters will join the thousands wearing specially decorated bras for the power-walking challenge, and are promising to be at their outrageous best to keep the crowds entertained.

They are urging the people of Southampton to sign up to either the 5km or 10km route that will take walkers around the city, pounding the streets in aid of breast cancer charities.

Both men and women can take part and have the option of wearing a decorated bra while they complete the course.

Colin said: “We’ll certainly be on the lookout for the best dressed walkers, so all you girls and guys should make sure your bras really impress. We want glitz, glamour and sparkle – these events are a celebration of life so there is no room for understatement.”

The first ever Celebrity SunWalk sponsored by Celebrity Cruises takes place in Southampton on April 24 and is organised by Walk the Walk, the leading UK-based grant making breast cancer charity, in partnership with Celebrity Cruises.

The event coincides with the launch of the latest ship from Celebrity Cruises, Celebrity Eclipse, which will be named in the city on the same day.

Colin and Justin, last seen battling the bugs in the Australian jungle, will also be part of the inaugural celebrations taking place in Mayflower Park, introducing a number of music and entertainment acts, as well announcing raffle and competition prizes live from the stage.

The walk will start in Mayflower Park, and Celebrity Eclipse, the new Solstice Class ship from Celebrity Cruises, will form a magnificent backdrop for the finish line, prior to the afternoon naming ceremony.

It is the first ship from Celebrity Cruises to be based from the port and will be dedicated to the UK market until November 2010. For more information about the walk log on to dailyecho.co.uk and follow the charities link.
