KEEN guardians of one the country's most treasured forests were out in force as more than 500 turned out for the 2018 volunteer fair.
The event at Lyndhurst Community Centre included talks on homelessness, swifts and volunteer opportunites, with some of the most popular stalls being Louise Godden's East Boldre Hedgehog Rescue - which she runs from her home - opportunities to become a Forestry Commission ranger and the Pondhead Conservation Trust.
Organiser Jim Mitchell said: "That's the beauty of this event - we have one person operations up to national organisations - there's something for everyone to get involved in."
