Fareham residents have the chance to take their families to London for half price over half-term on a chartered train.

The Fareham Flyer will leave the market town at 8.30am on Saturday, October 26 to head direct to London Waterloo, where it will arrive in the capital at 10am and travel back at 7pm.

While on the train, Santa’s Helpers will be collecting children’s Christmas lists, and a visit to one of London’s many shopping centres could allow parents to get their gift purchases done early.

The event has been organised by C2U Gosport director Gary Walker, whose charity helps homeless veterans in Gosport, and Mike Critchley, who ran the recently-closed Gosport Tourist Information Office.

Gary said: “We have had a lot of fun organising this special train to London next Saturday which is proving to be very popular with adults and kids alike.”

Tickets are available for purchase for just £25 at post offices in Gosport, Alverstoke, Titchfield and Portchester, or online via EventBrite, and any profit will be going to charity.
