An activity centre is hosting Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations.

The YMCA Fairthorne Group has announced two community events at the YMCA Fairthorne Manor in Botley.

The Halloween event is scheduled for October 31, and will run from 4pm to 8pm. It promises activities like pumpkin carving, spooky trails, and fancy dress competitions. Tickets are priced at £10 per person.

The Bonfire Night Extravaganza will follow on November 5, featuring a fireworks display, a bonfire, live entertainment, food stalls, and funfair rides. The gates will open at 4.30pm with the bonfire starting at 4.45pm. Tickets for this event are £6 per person.

YMCA FG said the events provide an opportunity for families to come together and enjoy the spirit of the winter season.

Both happenings are part of YMCA Fairthorne’s ongoing efforts to foster community connections and provide engaging activities for families. The group has extended an invitation to members of the media to attend the events. Complimentary family tickets are available for the press upon request.

The YMCA Fairthorne Group is known for its community-centred initiatives, and these upcoming events are expected to draw significant participation, offering a platform for social interaction and community building. The organisation has ensured both events will take place in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Melissa Way, transformation director at YMCA Fairthorne Group, said: "Our events are more than celebrations – they are all about creating a space where everyone can join in the fun, regardless of age or background.

"Inclusivity is at the core of what we do – we believe that community events should bring people together, ensuring that every family member feels welcome and able to enjoy the magic of the season."
