A logistics firm will host the grand finale of a national campaign celebrating the warehousing sector.
Delamode Logistics, in Western Avenue, Southampton, will welcome Clare Bottle, chief executive of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA), and Councillor David Shields, the Lord Mayor of Southampton, for the conclusion of the 'Around the Warehouses in 80 Visits' tour on Tuesday, October 22.
The initiative marks the 80th anniversary of the UKWA and aims to highlight the importance of the often-overlooked warehousing sector.
Clare Bottle has toured 80 warehouses across the UK, showcasing the critical work done behind the scenes every day.
Delamode's port-centric warehouse, which includes a unique 65,000-pallet bonded facility, will be the final stop.
The facility is dedicated to high-volume pre-retail loads for major and multiple retailers.
The campaign also hopes to recognise the contribution of the more than one million people working in warehousing to the economy and national life.
