A date has been set for a by-election after MP Satvir Kaur resigned from the city council.
Southampton Test representative Ms Kaur, formerly leader of the council, announced she would step down last week.
The council is holding a by-election to fill her now vacant Shirley ward seat.
The poll will take place on October 10, and the winning candidate will remain in position until May 2027.
Ms Kaur was elected as an MP in July, having previously been re-elected as a councillor in 2023.
She stepped down as leader of the council in December 2023.
A city council spokesperson said: "Voting will only take place in the Shirley ward.
"Registered electors in the Shirley ward will receive poll cards with further details soon.
"Eligible electors in the Shirley ward who are not already registered to vote must do so before midnight on Tuesday, September 24, in order to take part in this by-election."
