Not even a cap and sunglasses could disguise comedian Ricky Gervais as he dropped in to support an animal welfare charity.

Gervais, who lives in Hampstead, was seen cuddling rescue dog Charley at All Dogs Matter's pop-up shop in Hampstead High Street.

The star visited the site on Tuesday (April 30), as a celebrity patron for the charity, which helps rescue and rehome unwanted and abandoned dogs.

The shop itself is open from April 29 until May 12.

Ira Moss, general manager of All Dogs Matter, said: “We were delighted to see our patron Ricky Gervais at our Hampstead pop-up charity shop.

“We are so grateful for Ricky’s ongoing support - he has done so much to help rescue dogs like Charley.

“He even signed the cap he is wearing in this picture, which will be auctioned off to raise more funds to help keep our dogs happy, healthy and loved until they find their forever homes.”
