Deliveroo has revealed its most popular takeaway orders in cities across the UK, including in Southampton.
Southampton has a huge range of takeaway options from a variety of different cultures, but Deliveroo claims residents' top pick is Mexigo’s shredded beef burrito.
The Mexican restaurant and takeaway on London Road has been open since 2011.
Its shredded beef burrito ranges in price from £8.95 to £12, depending on toppings.
Mexigo’s co-owner and director, Ian Rayner, 59, said: “It is fantastic for our hard work over the last 12 years to have paid off with Deliveroo’s recognition – we pride ourselves on severing authentic and exceptional quality food.
“Those in the city love our burrito, and our menu, because all of our food is all freshly cooked on site, our sauces are all made by us in house, and we provide consistently high-quality food.
“I want to say a huge thank you to Deliveroo for recognising the quality of our food, our customers in Southampton for continuing to support us through difficult times like the cost of living and, of course, our brilliant staff.
“We are a family here and many of our staff have been with us for more than two or three years.
“Our staff are proud to serve our food – and that is really important to us.”
The Burrito is also available in four chicken flavours – chorizo, chipotle, bombay and fajita. It is also available in pulled pork or brisket beef that is cooked for three to five hours before serving.
Mexigo also caters for those with dietary requirements with a range of vegan and gluten free options and its vegetarian chilli burrito – whose recipe hasn’t been changed in 11 years.
Ian said that other popular items on the menu include the taquitos side and the halloumi logs.
The takeaway has also recently introduced a range of desserts.
