TWO brothers who chased a man into a Co-Op store before attacking him have been convicted by a jury.

Kristen Christopher Cooper, 24, and Todd James Edward Cooper, 28, chased the victim into the store on Betsy Lane, Bransgore.

Southampton Crown Court heard how the man was pushed to the floor before a catapult was used to fire an item in his direction.

No injuries were caused but the Cooper brothers, and another man who had also been involved, fled the scene.

A short time later, at around 7.30pm, a black SUV was seen on CCTV ramming into the back of a Vauxhall Astra.

The Astra was pushed into a parked car before the occupants of the SUV got out and confronted those in the other vehicle.

The Cooper brothers were identified as the men in the SUV who caused damage to the Vauxhall using a crowbar and baseball bat.

A catapult was then used to fire a ball bearing into the vehicle.

This weapon was later seized by police when the car was recovered.

Following the offences on March 4, a jury found the brothers guilty of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of making threats to cause injury with offensive weapons and one count of criminal damage.

The verdict was delivered last Friday after a five-day trial.

Both Kristen Cooper, of Whitelands in Bransgore and Todd Cooper, of Jubilee Court, Sway have been remanded in custody.

A date is yet to be set for their sentencing.
