A spokesperson for Southampton Independent Beer Week, which will run from October 6 to 15, said: "In Southampton we are very fortunate to have some fantastic independent micropubs, breweries, pubs and bars which sell and produce some of the best ‘craft’ beer across the country.

"These venues are all focused around the local community, holding regular events with friendly staff who fully welcome all who visit. Each pub and brewery have their own unique identity and feel, many are known for their frequent awards received on their hospitality and beer brewed.

"To celebrate this unique and vibrant craft and independent beer scene in Southampton, we are pleased to launch our very first Southampton Independent Beer Week in October 2024."

Among the micropubs, pubs, bars, and breweries taking part are Olaf’s Tun, Dancing Man, Unity Brewing, Belgium and Blues, Beard and Boards, Good Libations, The Bookshop Alehouse, The Butcher’s Hook, The Guide Dog, Overdraft, 6 Barrels, The Dusty Barrel, and Steam Town Brew Co.

On different days during the week, each venue will be holding events, such as Olaf’s Tun’s cheese pairing ‘battle royal’ and Hand tap take over, and Good Libation’s Wild Beer Master Class and Beak Brewery tasting.

More information and events are still to be announced and more information can be found on the website as well as at the venues themselves.
