FROM vintage vehicles to muddy obstacles and everything in between, there's so much to do in Southampton and beyond this weekend.
Here's our pick of five of the best family activities to enjoy.
Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show...
One of Hampshire's biggest summer shows takes place this weekend.
The Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show will be staged later this month will once again see thousands flock to the three-day spectacular at Meadowead Farm.
More than 12,000 spectators often attend the annual event, which raises around £20,000 for charities and other good causes in the area each year.
Enjoy displays of all things vintage, including tractors, steam engines, trucks, cars and motorcycles with daily parades.
There's live music, arena entertainment, food and craft stalls, a street market and funfair.
The show was first held in 1971 and celebrated its belated golden jubilee last year.
A very popular and very pink fundraiser is returning to Southampton on Saturday.
Race for Life will arrive at Southampton Common in a burst of pink as thousands walk, jog, and run to raise money for charity.
The annual event will see around 1,700 people take part in the 3k, 5k, and 10k events, alongside the Pretty Muddy races, a mud splattered obstacle course.
The events are open to men, women and children.
The 3k and 10k starts at 10am and the 5k event begins at 11am. Pretty Muddy childrens and adults events follow.
Entertainers, including a caricature artist, will be on site.
Eastleigh Mela...
Music, dance, entertainment and food from around the world comes to Eastleigh on Sunday.
Eastleigh Mela takes place from 11am to 6pm in the Leigh Road Recreation Ground.
The free event features live entertainment and activities with music and dance from Acoustic Jass, Navin Kundra, Forever Queen, Jazz Mattoo, The Henrys, Jan Belly, and MC CoCo P.
There’s also a climbing wall, martial arts (including Gatka) - and the Hampshire FA will be present.
Run by a small group of volunteers, TriFest is an annual Bitterne Park Triangle event taking place on Riverside Park, and is a free community event open to all.
Expect a wide variety of performers crossing musical genres so there should be a lilttle something for everyone with sets from Southampton Ukelele Jam, Fragile Lucy and Cat Elliott.
Also enjoy the dog show, stalls, beer tent, food and more.
Jerk Jam...
From humble backyard beginnings, a Hampshire festival based on all the delights of the Notting Hill Carnival, is back bigger and better than ever before.
Jerk Jam returns on Saturday, following a Covid-induced hiatus, to a new home at Pinkmead Farm, near Botley.
The festival features a set from Pete Devereux, who as an original member of Artful Dodger, was one of the figureheads of the UK garage movement, releasing the smash hit 1999 track Re-Rewind with Craig David.
Also on the bill are The Allergies & Channel One, special guest General Lvy, King Tubby's, Kurupt fm's Danny Rankin, DJ Mickey Finn, and many more artists.
The event centres around the popular BBQ Battle, a unique competition that takes place in a large purpose built boxing ring sporting authentic jerk pans, sound system, DJs and MCs. Chefs battle it out to take home the title.
There are two other music stages with an eclectic mix of local and international artists and DJs from the worlds of reggae, soul, funk, ohuse, hip hop and folk.
