A WORLD War Two grenade was detonated in a field by Hampshire Police and the Army Bomb Disposal Squad.
Officers were called to a field in Bordon at around 6.20pm, after receiving reports that a local resident had found an unexploded grenade.
Hampshire Police assisted the Army Bomb Disposal Squad at the scene, detonating the device in a safe location.
The British Army has described this incident as a "familiar occurrence".
A spokesperson said: "Our Bomb Disposal Squad was called to a field in Bordon yesterday evening at around 6.20pm.
"A World War Two grenade was found by a local resident and was detonated safely, which is quite a regular occurrence."
Hampshire Police have been contacted for a comment.
