A TEENAGER who was arrested following a car pile-up and helicopter manhunt will face no further action.
An 18-year-old man has been released by police and faces no further action.
It comes after a white Jaguar sped across Shirley after failing to stop for police on Romsey Road.
It then crashed into a car on St James Road at around 10pm on Tuesday.
Travelling "very fast" it span out of control and ploughed into at least four parked cars.
The driver is said to have fled the scene.
Meanwhile, two of his male passengers were rushed to hospital with one suffering serious injuries.
A manhunt was launched with a police helicopter circling above the city for much of the night.
An armed response unit then raided a home in Imperial Avenue in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
An 18-year-old man was later arrested under suspicion of failing to stop for police.
However, according to police, there was insufficient evidence to charge him.
A police spokesperson said: "An 18-year-old man has been released and no further action will be taken against him.
"There was insufficient evidence to charge him."
