A MAN in his 40s has been rushed to hospital after his lorry flipped on its side blocking a major Southampton route.
His HGV overturned sending diesel gushing onto Franconia Drive near the Test Lane roundabout.
Emergency services rushed to the scene during the incident which happened at around 10.20pm on Monday.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated in hospital.
Motorists were urged to take alternative routes at the time.
A police spokesperson said: "The incident occurred at 10.22pm last night, May 18.
"An HGV lorry overturned on the roundabout on Franconia Drive, Nursling.
"The male driver, who is in his 40s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
"The road was blocked for some time to recover the vehicle and to deal with a diesel spillage on the road."
