A HAMPSHIRE man who assaulted a woman with a weapon has been jailed.
Christopher Richard Sharp assaulted a woman by beating on March 11 in Gosport, and damaged her clothing.
The court heard how the 36-year-old carried out a "sustained assault" and that a "weapon" was used.
Sharp also used threatening language and behaviour towards a man on the same day causing him to fear that violence would be used.
Sharp then damaged the male victim's pedal bike.
On May 7, he headbutted a police officer.
Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating, one count of assaulting an emergency worker, one count of using threatening and abusive language and behaviour, and two counts of damaging property.
Sharp, of Carisbrooke Road, Gosport, was committed to prison for four months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128.
