TWO Marks and Spencer's food halls in Hampshire are remaining open during the coronavirus lockdown.

Hedge End and Southampton West Quay's Marks and Spencer Foodhalls and standalone food stores are open, while outlet stores that only sell clothing and homeware are temporarily closed.

Customers can still access Hedge End and Southampton West Quay by using the doors to the Foodhall if the main doors are closed.

On Mondays and Thursdays, the store and foodhall will be open from 9am to 10am for older and vulnerable customers.

NHS and emergency workers will have access during the same times, but on Tuesdays and Fridays.

During busy times, colleagues will manage the number of customers in store, while trollies, baskets, screens and all touch points will be cleaned every hour and deep-cleaned each night.

Customers are also warned to keep two metres apart in store, and sneeze guards have been installed at check outs.

They are urged to use card if they can - with contactless payments being increased to £45 - and not to use their Sparks card, but to add the points when they get home.
