TWO Southampton midwives have started up a community Facebook page for new mums and their families to help tackle coronavirus fears.
Becky Parker and Emily Seddon, Consultant midwife trainees at University Hospital Southampton, have set up a Facebook page called Southampton Maternity Service.
The page has been created to give pregnant families and those with newborn babies information about their maternity care amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The page was set up yesterday is is open for anyone to join or share.
Becky said: "We want to make sure our patients are getting all the information they need.
"Information is changing everyday and this is a platform where we can keep people up to date."
It comes as Southampton Hospitals Charity launched a campaign to support NHS staff working around the clock to look after patients during the outbreak.
The appeal launched by the hospital charity aims to raise money to support the mental health and wellbeing of the frontline NHS staff who are caring for COVID-19 patients.
As well as this, newspapers across the country published the same front page to support residents and to pledge to shine a light on the heroes in this hour of need.
