A NUMBER of schools are closing across Hampshire amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Some schools in Southampton, Eastleigh, Fareham, the New Forest and the Test Valley are closing, or are partially closing due to COVID-19.

Here is the full list of schools which are closed;

  • St Anne's Catholic School will be closed to years 8 and 9 for the rest of the week.
  • Bitterne Park School will only be open to Years 7, 10 and 11.
  • Brookfield Community School is partially closed due to a shortage of staff - the school is closed to year nine students.
  • Cams Hill School in Fareham: Year 10 pupils are being asked to work from home. 
  • Chamberlayne College for the Arts is closed to Year 9 only.
  • Compass School Primary will be closed from today until further notice. However, the school remains open for all secondary pupils.
  • Crestwood Community School in Shakespeare Road is closed for year 9 students only.
  • Crofton School in Stubbington: Years 8 and 9 should remain at home.
  • Fareham Academy: Closed to year 9 and 10 pupils. 
  • Hamble School in Satchell Lane: Closed to year 8 students. They are advised to follow their normal timetable at home.
  • Hounsdown School in Totton is closed to year eight students due to staff shortages.
  • Kings' School, Winchester: Years 8 and 9 should work from home.
  • Mountbatten School, Romsey: Year 8 should remain at home.
  • New Forest Academy, Holbury: Year 9 and 10 students should not attend school.
  • The Romsey School: Today the school is closed to year 10 only.
  • Saint James' Church Of England Primary School, West End: Closed until further notice.
  • Test Valley School in Stockbridge is closed for the rest of the week to year eight and nine students.
  • Toynbee School, Chandler's Ford: Closed to year 10 students. 
  • Woodlands Community College is closed for Year 9 pupils until this Friday.
