A SHOPLIFTER who targeted Boots in Winchester has been banned from the city's High Street for a year.
David James Thorn, 38, of Hyde Gate, Hyde, Winchester, pleaded guilty to four thefts from the High Street shop.
On February 7 he stole fragrances valued at £223; on February 12 he took sunglasses worth £160; on February 27 he stole three bottle of fragrances valued at £100; and then on March 3 he snatched Yankee candles worth £24.
Basingstoke Magistrates Court imposed a community order for 12 months including a an electronically monitored ban from Winchester High Street.
Thorn was ordered to pay £200 compensation, a £90 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
