A BODY found washed up in Southampton has been identified.
Police were called just after midday on Monday to reports of a man's body washed up on the shoreline in Woolston near to the waterworks.
The body has been identified as a man from the Thames Valley area and his next of kin have been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 12.05pm on Monday following the discovery of a man’s body that had washed up on the shoreline at Woolston. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time, and enquiries are ongoing."
