FLOOD alerts have been issued for parts of Hampshire this morning following more heavy rainfall.

The Flood Information Service (FIS) has said that flooding is possible in Eling, Calmore, Testwood and Romsey due to high water levels in the River Test.

Water continues to flood land and fields from Timsbury to Romsey, and at Broadlands and Testwood.

A warning has also been put in place for parts of Eastleigh and Bishopstoke due to high water levels in the Lower Itchen.

The FIS report there is also a possibility of flooding in Twyford and Hensting Lane, Fisher’s Pond.

On the FIS website, a statement says: "River levels will increase slightly in response to the rainfall over the next few days.

"Please remain prepared for further impacts over the next five days, as river levels will rise and fall.

"Generally water levels will be much higher than normal and minor impact flooding will continue."

The flood alerts were put in place yesterday for Friday and today with a total of 14mm to 19mm of rainfall forecast.

The alert will be update by 12pm tomorrow.
