THE date is September, 1957 and this Daily Echo photograph shows the west wing of Southampton’s Civic Centre shrouded in scaffolding.
With some distinctive 1950s cars parked on the Civic Centre forecourt, extensive repairs were being carried out to the building following damage during the Second World War.
