THESE images, taken by local photographers in February 1990, provide us with a nostalgic glimpse back to three decades ago.
Sholing Girls School featured heavily that month. A shot was taken while they enjoyed ten-pin bowling, braved the stage at a public speaking contest and even when checking out the latest fashions in the High Street.
Famous faces of the time made an appearance as sports star Kris Akabusi was interviewed by pupils of Locks Heath Junior School and Bobby Davro planted a tree on Southampton Common.
While the events pictured were taking place, these events were happening nationally:

February 15
Diplomatic relations were restored between the UK and Argentina after the invasion of the Falkland Islands in 1982.
February 20
A bomb explosion in Leicester city centre injured three people.
February 26
Fourteen people were killed across Britain as severe storms hit.
