SHOTGUNS, pistols, quad bikes and a tractor are among the items seized from an address in Fair Oak, following the arrest of a 50-year-old man.

As part of an ongoing investigation, officers executed a warrant at a property off Winchester Road on February 6.

During the two-day search, they recovered four pistols, three shotguns, a silencer and several rounds of ammunition, as well as four quad bikes, a tractor, a Polaris Ranger, two pedal cycle, an Audi A3 and two hedge trimmers.

This comes after a 50-year-old man from Fair Oak was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft of a pedal cycle, possession of firearms and ammunition, and also possession of shotguns on February 1.

He was interviewed by Police and released under investigation to allow for further enquiries.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "You may have seen a heavy police presence at a property in Fair Oak at the end of last week?

"We arrested a 50-year-old man from Fair Oak on February 1, on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, theft of a pedal cycle and possession of firearms, and ammunition, and also possession of shotguns. He was interviewed and released under investigation to allow for further enquiries.

"On February 6, as part of this ongoing investigation we executed a warrant a property off of Winchester Road. We remained at the property until Friday 7 February and carried out a thorough search. As part of the overall investigation, we seized a number of firearms, and stolen property."

A number of the stolen items have now been reunited with their rightful owners, and enquiries are ongoing at this time.
