A MAN has been arrested after police were involved in a ninety-minute standoff with a man who had climbed on top of a city centre roof.
Officers cordoned off part of Carlton Place and Bedford Place this afternoon after a man climbed on top of XOXO Bar.
The incident happened around 11.30am this morning.
The road has since been opened.
Officers, who were attending a concern for welfare incident, have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and for failure to attend North Hampshire Magistrates' Court on January 28.
He remains in custody.
