SUPERSTAR DJ Craig David will perform at this year's Victorious Festival.

The RnB star, who grew up in Southampton, will bring his celebrated TS5 show to the UK's biggest metropolitan festival, which takes over Southsea Seafront over the August bank holiday weekend.

Organisers have today announced a huge wave of incredible artists, including headliners The Streets, Royal Blood and many more with Ian Brown, The Kooks, and others already announced.

Craig's TS5 set includes massive old skool anthems from R&B to Swing beat, to Garage and Bashment, whilst merging current chart-topping House hits. With Craig’s amazing ability to sing, MC and work the crowd while DJing simultaneously, it's been a huge hit worldwide.

Widely believed to have started in his Miami penthouse, Craig actually credits Southampton, where he used to DJ before selling over 15 million albums as an artist, enjoying 14 Top 10 hits and achieving multi-platinum status in more than 20 countries, with the early beginnings of TS5.

It's gone down a storm on various occasions in Southampton, including a headline set at Common People, but it remains to be seen whether Portsmouth audiences will take the Southampton lad to their hearts.

Headlining Saturday is Birmingham hip-hop act, The Streets. With a career spanning near to 20 years and fronted by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner, The Streets’ debut album ‘Original Pirate Material’, released in 2002 is widely regarded to have changed the face of British rap music, and second album A Grand Don’t Come For Free was a huge worldwide success spawning hit singles like Fit But You Know It and Dry Your Eyes.

With hotly anticipated album, The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light scheduled for release in 2021, expect a mix of classic hits and new releases!

Headlining Sunday is English Rock duo Royal Blood who followed up their self-titled 2014 album with 2017’s How Did We Get So Dark? – to a similar reaction – with hits such as Come On Over, Little Monster and I Only Lie When I Love You. With a sonic force that brings the primal essence of precocious rock ‘n’ roll, soaring hooks and deft melodies, their live set is sure to be a highlight of this year’s festival.

The stellar line-up also sees Nile Rodgers and Chic take to the stage. Having sold over 100 million records including huge worldwide hits Good Times, Everybody Dance and Le Freak. Nile has worked with a staggering list of true music legends, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, David Bowie, Diana Ross, Prince, Mick Jagger and most recently, Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams on hit single Get Lucky.

Following rave reviews from their latest studio album, Everything Else Has Gone Wrong, Bombay Bicycle Club also joins the bill and promises to bring indie music to the forefront with a mixture of acoustic melodies, energetic instrumentals and throbbing basslines.

Also on the bill is singer-songwriter Rag ‘N’ Bone Man – known for his deep, baritone voice, BBC Sounds for 2016 finalists Blossoms, The Fratellis, Welsh rockers Feeder, La Roux, Jonny Marr, Miles Kane, DJ Fresh, indie-rockers Mystery Jets, Morcheeba, Reef, Twin Atlantic, Stereo MC’s, Cast, Eve, Glasvegas, Jaguar Skills, The Snuts, Aaron Smith, John, Wild Front and Andrew Cushin.

Festival director Andy Marsh said: “We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s festival. Our first wave of artists were extremely well received and we’re delighted to bring a second wave that is equally as strong.

"Going into our ninth year, we really tried to raise the bar and with more artists still to be announced, plus a whole host of family content and world music still to come, we’re convinced this is going to be our best year yet!”

Founded in 2011, Victorious Festival takes place from August 28 to 30 and tickets are on sale now.
