A POPULAR festival is returning to Southampton after thousands of drum and bass lovers danced their hearts out at Docklands Festival last year.

The Dock and On A Mission in the Park are expected to bring thousands of fans to the city in a two-day music extravaganza in the heart of Southampton.

This May bank holiday, Andy C, Pendulum, Shy FX, SASASAS, Camelphat, Andrea Oliva, Chris Campbell and dozens more house and drum and bass artists will be filling Hoglands Park with popular dance tunes.

However, organisers have been issues a warning from civic chiefs after the field was damaged due to rain and vehicles on the grass last year.

Cabinet Member for Homes and Culture, Satvir Kaur said: ”Southampton is the place where something is always happening, and we are known for our great outdoor events that make the most of our open spaces.

"However, due to the damage caused to Hoglands Park last September, we have been working closely with the organisers to ensure that the park is fully restored.

"Before any future events take place we will need to be satisfied that there are suitable plans in place to protect the park.”

Festival-goers were promised the return of the festival in October last year, after organiser Ryan Keary said there was "a lot to look forward to".

The Dock will take place on May 8 from 2pm to 11pm with Liverpool duo Camelphat due to headline the event on the main stage.

Joining them on the main stage will be Eats Everything, Andrea Oliva, Waff, Eli Brown, Chris Campbell, Detlef, Mason Maynard, Tom Clark and many more.

On A Mission in the Park will take place on May 9, with drum and bass lovers in for 9 hours of the euphoric music they adore.

Running from 2pm to 11pm, Andy C and Pendulum are due to headline the main stage.

Shy FX, SASASAS, and DJ Hazard have also been announced to be playing the main stage, as well as many more to be announced.
