I was pleased to read that Maggie O'Connor (featured in the January 4 Daily Echo) is enjoying "the freedom if cycling around town everyday..."
I'd be more than happy if I could enjoy the freedom of walking the short distance to Shirley High Street without having to dodge and sidestep careering along the pavements.
Having been knocked flat on my back some years ago and needing treatment a the hospital for a damaged foot, I resent having to reprimand those cyclists who weave in and out on the pavements and whose response to my protest is, to say at least, unprintable!
What would help curb this behaviour is the presence of a uniformed policeman but I won't hold my breath!
