A HAMPSHIRE man has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after he assaulted and racially abused a man.

Alfie Lancaster, 18, assaulted and racially abused a man at Coop petrol station on Wellworthy Road in Lymington on August 26.

He also caused damage to the automatic doors at the petrol station.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Lancaster pleaded guilty assault by beating, causing unlawful damage, causing alarm and distress using threatening and insulting words.

Lancaster, of Samber Close, Lymington, was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work over 12 months and was fined £150.

He was also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
