THIS is the full diversion route for the popular Southampton road that is closed for a whole month.

Roadworks are underway as parts of Victoria Road, between the Obelisk Road and Portsmouth Road junctions are closed, and will stay that way until February 9.

While the works are completed, the section of the road will be completely closed and a diversion route is now in place for drivers.

The route is as followed:

- Head South-East on Portsmouth Road towards Enfield Grove

- Slight right onto Wright's Hill, and then turn right onto Weston Lane

- At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Archery Road

- Continue onto Weston Grove Road, and then Vosper Road

- At the roundabout, take the second exit onto John Thornycroft Road and continue on to re-join Victoria Road.

Bluestar bus services will also be impacted, with the diversion route bypassing stops on Johns Road and Keswick Road shops.

The nearest alternative stops are Bridge Link Road and Centenary Quay.

While the City Red 11 bus towards Weston will be diverted via Woolston Link Road, Portsmouth Road, St Anne’s Road, Obelisk Road, and will then follow its normal route.

SGN began upgrading the gas network in the area on January 6, in order to ensure local homes and businesses continue to enjoy a reliable gas supply for the forseeable future.

They will be replacing the old gas mains with new plastic pipes, and some street parking on Victoria Road may be impacted during the works.
