PARAMEDICS were shocked when they returned to their ambulance to find an abusive note had been left on the windscreen.

The crew were dealing with a medical emergency in Lymington but the writer of the anonymous note was more concerned with the fact they were blocking a driveway.

As reported in the Daily Echo, the ambulance personnel were branded "Dumbass".

Now another 999 crew in the New Forest have also been presented with a note - but this one was of an entirely different nature.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) has revealed that a man known only as Paul thanked them for going to the aid of his disabled wife, who had tumbled out of her wheelchair.

In a heart-warming gesture Paul presented the paramedics with an armful of Christmas goodies - biscuits, chocolates and fruit.

The gifts were accompanied by a handwritten note which said: "One of your crews came out to my wife last week (fell from wheelchair).

"Thanks for your help. A little something to share because we (public) do care, honest!

"You all do a fantastic job. Stay safe and try to have a great festive period."

Writing on social media SCAS said: "Another note in Hampshire today.

"But don't worry - this was from the lovely Paul, who popped in to our Hythe base to say thank you to all the team and particularly Emma & Pete, who came to Paul's wife's aid when she had a fall.

"Thank you so much Paul from all our team - we hope you and your wife have a great Christmas and New Year too!"

Paul's actions have been praised on social media.

One woman said: "What a lovely man. Yes, I agree - you all do a fantastic job."

The note could not have been more different from the one left on the ambulance at Lymington.

Two paramedics attending a medical emergency were stunned to find an offensive note which said: "Dumbass! You are fully blocking my driveway!”

SCAS took to Twitter to urge residents not to abuse their staff.
