One of the few things which unites us all during General Elections is the glorious #dogsatpollingstations.

And this year there could be a festive twist.

Can you take dogs inside polling stations?

The Electoral Commission have confirmed that dogs are allowed inside most polling stations. They need to follow certain rules, such as being kept on leads at all times. Owners must also ensure their pet doesn’t disrupt the voting process.

The voting officers must also permit it and the polling station building must allow it too.

Ultimately, it’s worth checking – and don’t leave your dog tied up alone outside. No one wants anything bad to happen.

If you are taking your dog to the polling station, why not submit us a picture below.
