EASTLEIGH residents have the opportunity to grill prospective MPs before the upcoming election.

The hustings meeting tomorrow night is where candidates will debate policies and answer questions from locals.

Hustings provide voters with an opportunity to hear the views of candidates or parties.

The event will take place at King’s Community Church (KCC) in Upper Northam Road, Hedge End tomorrow at 7.30pm.

Doors will open at 7pm and parking is free.

In recent years, the Eastleigh constituency has swung between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.

Paul Holmes, the Conservative candidate, Lynda Murphy of the Liberal Democrats and Ron Meldrum of the Green Party will all be taking part.

However, Sam Jordan of the Labour Party is unable to attend.

KCC is reportedly pleased to include in the platform group the next highest person in the local Labour Party, Joshua Constable.

The candidates will offer a short opening statement before answering questions on a wide range of topics.
