THESE pictures were taken when teachers at Eastleigh Technical College took to the streets to protest.
Braving the cold weather on November 7, 1989, members of the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education held placards reading “Support the strike, defend jobs, defend education”.
The group were out in force to protest against part-time workers’ jobs being axed.
Another placard at the time read “Save part timers jobs, defend our conditions of service.”
A brief spell of rain resulted in umbrellas being used - but that didn’t stop the horde from making their point heard.
