A SCHOOL in Netley has been forced to partially close today due to a heating failure.
Three Year R classes at Netley Abbey Infant School were told not to go to school today because temperatures were below the legal and reasonable minimum for classrooms.
In a text to parents, the school stated that they are 'doing everything they can to rectify the situation as soon as possible', but they have failed to comment further than that.
This comes shortly after the infants school was closed on Tuesday November 5 for the same reason.
Hampshire County Council have confirmed the closure was due to temperatures falling below 16 degrees Celsius as a result of a heating failure.
While all of the Year R students have been impacted today, the rest of the school remained open as usual.
The school is located on Westwood Road, Netley Abbey, Southampton.
