A CONVOY of 26 colourful and noisy vehicles snaked their way through New Forest streets as the New Milton carnival got underway.
Floats laden with fund raisers set out on the bitter morning of November 25, 1989, on a route which took them around Lymington Brockenhurst, Christchurch and Ringwood.
Carnival organiser Marjorie Dacombe said: “We hope to raise £1,000 this year and it’s all for local charities – with the emphasis on local. This is the biggest procession so far and I’m highly delighted.”
