PLANS have been revealed for almost 70 new homes in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.
Farm buildings and workshops will be demolished to make way for 68 new homes and a convenience store at a plot of land to the north of Boorley Green.
They will include one and two bedroom apartments, as well as two and three bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses with no affordable housing on offer
Named the Gateway Centre the site lies within the wider Boorley Park development and is accessed from Winchester Road.
The 2.2 hectare plot of land is being developed by the Boorley Green consortium which is made up of Bloor Homes, Bovis Homes and Linden Homes.
The plot is currently occupied by the existing Braxells Farm complex of workshops, Braxells Farm and a large detached house.
The Boorley Park development faced fierce opposition from residents who marched in protest through the streets of Botley prior to being aprroved in 2013 and even appealed to the High Court but had their judicial review thrown out by a judge.
Despite local objections developers have described Boorley Park as a twenty first century neighbourhood for the borough of Eastleigh
The Boorley Park development is a multi-million-pound vision for 1,400 homes on the outskirts of a Botley.
It includes new homes, a primary school and separate pre-school, community sports facilities, allotments and woodland.
