A MAN was found dead in his Southampton home with a shotgun wound to his head, an inquest heard.
Alan O'Connor, 66, was discovered by police at his address in Kent Street on September 10.
An inquest into his death, which opened at Winchester Coroner's Court on Wednesday October 2, heard police had been called to Mr O'Connor's home due to fears for his wellbeing.
Officers forced entry into the address, which looked secured, and found his body.
A post mortem carried out at Southampton General Hospital mortuary by pathologist Dr Adrian Bateman provided a preliminary cause of death as shotgun wound to the head.
Acting area coroner Samantha Marsh adjourned the inquest until March 17, 2020.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
