A MAN has been rescued from a platform after suffering a medical emergency.
The man, who is around 60-years-old, was rescued by 25 firemen at around 12.54pm from scaffolding at Exxon Chemicals on Cadland Road in Hythe.
Crews from Eastleigh, Hardley, Beaulieu, St Mary’s, and Redbridge attended as well as an ambulance and a Hazardous Area Response Team.
It was reported by Hampshire Fire and Rescue that the man suffered a “medical emergency” on a platform around 15m tall. The man was helped to safety using a rope.
The man was then taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
