A TEACHER who was hit by a train at Pokesdown railway station has been named as Jihan Fahim El Sayed.
Ms El Sayed died when she was struck shortly before 8pm on Friday, September 13.
An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned at the coroner's court in Bournemouth on Friday afternoon.
It was heard that Ms El Sayed, who was 40 and lived in Charminster Avenue, Bournemouth, was captured on CCTV standing on a platform. There was no one else standing within the camera's view.
Coroner's officer Ken McEwan said: "A passenger service train which was not scheduled to stop at Pokesdown entered the station."
Ms El Sayed was struck by the train, he said. Officers from British Transport Police investigated, but do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
"It appears to have been a deliberate act," Mr McEwan said.
A post-mortem gave Ms El Sayed's death as 'multiple injuries', it was heard. A full inquest into her death will take place on April 29 next year.
