POLICE are searching for a man who helped two boys robbed at knifepoint.

They are appealing for information to help trace the passer-by who intervened when two teenagers were robbed in Southampton.

The incident happened between 8pm and 8.35pm on Friday on Blackthorn Road.

Two 14-year-old boys were approached by three males, one who was carrying of a knife.

They stole a bike from one of the boys and a mobile phone from the other.

A man who was passing by then intervened and the three thieves ran off with the stolen items.

Detective Constable Sophie Palmer, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident, in which a mountain bike and an Apple iPhone were stolen, to get in touch.

“We’re particularly keen to speak to the passer-by who intervened as he may have vital information to assist our investigation. If this was you, or you know who he is, please get in touch.”
