A MAN caught drink-driving twice, including once when he was more than three times the limit, has been banned from the roads for three years.

Traian Huruba was caught drink-driving in 2017 and again in 2019.

On the occasion in 2017, the 25-year-old was caught drink-driving in Mortimer Road, Botley on April 22.

When breathalysed, he had 117 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He was also driving without insurance at the time, Southampton Magistrates' Court heard.

Huruba was caught drink-driving again on Charles Watt Way, Hedge End, on August 27.

On that occasion, he had 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The court heard he was also driving without insurance and an MOT certificate.

Huruba, of Botley Road, Shedfield, pleaded guilty to two counts of drink-driving, two counts of driving without insurance and one count of driving without a valid MOT.

He also admitted failing to surrender to court bail, following the incident in 2017.

Huruba was banned from driving for three years and fined a total of £362.

He was also given a community order, including 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.
